What’s New in September 2026
New Features
Snappier container and VM UX
When managing containers and VMs via a connected TrueNAS, TrueNAS Connect might not pick up the changes to VM and container states very quickly. These updates are faster now, being reflected in the TrueNAS Connect UI seconds after making changes in TrueNAS.
CookieYes is our new CMP (Consent Management Provider)
Swap consent management providers (basically: cookie and data collection services) to CookieYes.
Bug Fixes
No more empty version strings
During failover or when dealing with a slow-to-respond system, the version string might not show up. It now shows
Unknownuntil the version is resolved.Systems with faulty hostnames no longer fail to connect
Fixed a bug where the first hostname assigned to a system was unreachable, then the whole system became unreachable, even if other hostnames are reachable.
Performance graph improvements
Fixed a visual bug where the metric graphs (CPU, Disk IO, etc.) scrolled faster over time, and after each time the user accessed the single-system view for that system. Also, mousing over the graphs to view detailed metrics should be much easier. Previously, users had to be very accurate with their cursor to get the metrics popup to show, which is no longer the case.
Local network access prompt now triggers reconnection
Fixed an issue requiring a page refresh after confirming a local network access permissions prompt. Systems should now reconnect immediately after the user allows local network access. Note that they continue to remain inaccessible if the user chooses to deny access, since this is a necessary feature for TrueNAS Connect to function. This bug affected only Chrome-based browsers and Firefox. Safari was unaffected.
Various enclosures page fixes
The major fix in this category is a bug that prevented deleting custom enclosures. Some other, smaller fixes include: removing the unused and uneditable Manufacturer field, preventing duplicate enclosure names, and making striped VDEVs show as STRIPE instead of DISK.

The fully redesigned TrueNAS Connect interface is now the default experience, including an improved view of your system’s enclosures and disks.
Sign In with Microsoft
Microsoft is now available as a sign-in option for everyone, alongside GitHub and Google.
Improved Translations
Translations have been improved across every supported language.
Bug Fixes
Authentication Errors from the System Card
Users without TrueNAS access now receive a proper error dialog when authenticating from the system card, instead of a silent failure.
Job Tracking on TrueNAS 26
Start, stop, and restart job tracking for apps and VMs now works on TrueNAS 26.
Plans Card Tier Display
The plans card now shows the correct subscription tier.
What’s New in February 2026
Improvements
Faster Subscription Activation
Order processing performance has been significantly improved, resulting in much faster subscription activation after purchase.
Session Timeout Notice
Users are now shown a notification on the login screen when they have been logged out due to a session timeout, making it clear why a new login is required.
Registration Country List
The country selection list during registration has been cleaned up to remove countries where TrueNAS Connect services are unavailable.
Backend Performance and Reliability
Numerous backend changes have been made to improve overall system performance and reliability.
Bug Fixes
HTML Rendering in Email Notifications
HTML content in NAS alerts is now rendered properly in email notifications instead of displaying raw markup.
What’s New in January 2026
New Features
Subscription Management
Comprehensive subscription system with tier-based feature access, upgrade and downgrade workflows, and real-time billing synchronization. Users can now manage subscription plans directly from the dashboard.
System Limit Enforcement
When system limits are reached, guided workflows help users either deregister systems or upgrade their subscription. Enterprise systems are appropriately blocked from registration with helpful documentation links.
Subscription Expiration Warnings
Banner notifications appear when subscriptions are expiring soon (3 days or less) to ensure uninterrupted service.
Redesigned Enclosures Interface
Complete redesign with improved navigation, smart sorting to surface unhealthy enclosures first, and progressive enhancement for larger viewports.
Account Management
New account/profile button added to the dashboard header with a redesigned account page featuring simplified plan selection and improved pricing display.

Clearer billing information with improved terminology, proper billing address display, and “Next Billing” date shown when auto-renewal is enabled.
